Within this context, your misison in this newly created role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to two Managing Directors at AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals. It is essential that you have experience of providing such support at a senior level, and that you are able to act on your own inititiave while embodying the highest levels of confidentiality as you handle sensitive data and information.

The role and its responsibilities
This position is located at our offices in Amsterdam, from where you perform a wide variety of activities and ad hoc administrative or coordination tasks.
In particular you are responsible for agenda management and the processing of e-mail, regular mail and other correspondence (in English and Dutch). You also organize meetings and travel, the processing of expense reports, and the administration of vendor payments including the creation of purchase orders, following up on payments and postings as necessary.
Further, you attend team meetings, making and distributing action points and monitoring timely follow up. You also monitor budgets (correct allocation to Projects) and proactively create analyses of run rates, forecast of year-end etc.
Other tasks include the coordination of responses to unsolicited job applications, and the creation and management of a department Share Point site to improve efficiency and reduce e-mail traffic.
- To apply for this position you must possess all the following attributes:
- Minimum Bachelor level education, with a secretarial degree an advantage;
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Management Assistant, with knowledge of HR processes an advantage;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP SRM, Concur and similar programs;
- The project management skills necessary to organize and follow through on actions;
- Excellent prioritization skills and an ability to independently seek solutions while looking to continuously improve administrative and team processes;
- The strong communication and interactive skills necessary to work with all levels of the organization, including fluent written and spoken Dutch and English.
